How could counseling help me?

Counseling is designed to help you address and resolve issues from your past, address current struggles, and give you a venue to share your thoughts, feelings, and ideas. My objective is to help you feel better, function better, and enjoy life more.

My specialties include:

  • Depression, adjustment issues (i.e. trouble coping with major life events, transitions, breakups, political/environmental climate, pandemic, etc.)

  • Anxiety and panic

  • Stress management/reduction

  • Relationship issues (couples, familial, professional)

  • Women's issues (infertility, motherhood, caretaking)

  • Body image and self-esteem issues, disordered eating

  • Chronic pain, health anxiety

The therapeutic process can be both difficult and rewarding. I take a fairly direct approach with my clients, while leaving plenty of room for humor and self-discovery. Often it is necessary to delve into the past to determine how it is creating your current reality; this information is often instrumental to helping to break apart current patterns and find ways to develop new strategies for coping.

I understand therapy can be challenging and will never make you feel judged or rushed. I feel each client should be given the chance to pace themselves and value meeting the client where they are at. Therapy is intended to lead you to the answers, not tell you the answers.

**Distance-based counseling services are intended for individuals who do not require a higher level of care and oversight (in-person therapy, intensive outpatient, or inpatient) for their mental health condition. If you're actively suicidal, were recently hospitalized for a mental health condition, or have been having thoughts of harm to yourself or others, please contact an in-person provider or reach out to the National Suicide Hotline @ 1-800-273-8255 for help.
